Comptroller Franchot's letter on Slots

On Friday, the national gambling industry and their supporters here in Maryland reached a new low in their already negative and misleading campaign to amend our Constitution and provide a multi-billion dollar bailout to the special interests.

Slot Machines: 6 cents on the dollar for Education

On November 4th, voters will have the chance to vote on a Ballot Initiative to legalize slot machines.

For every $100 dollars put into a slot machine:
- $87.00 goes to pay operating expenses, including payoffs to the lucky winners
- $ 6.31 goes to Education Trust Fund
- $ 4.29 goes to video lottery operating licensees.
- 91.0 cents go to horse racing purses
